When puppies stop growing?
Puppies stop growing and reach their adult size at around 6 months old. However, they may not reach their full adult weight until they are 1 year old. Puppy growth rates vary depending on the breed of dog. Large breeds like mastiffs and great danes typically reach their full size by 9 or 10 months, while smaller breeds like Yorkies and shih tzus may not reach their full size until they are 18 months old.
In addition to physical growth, puppies also go through a lot of mental and social development during their first year. Most puppies will be able to understand basic commands and cues by the time they are 6 months old. They should also be able to recognize and respond to their name. Socialization is an important part of puppy development, so it’s important that you expose your puppy to new people, places, and experiences during this time. Puppies who are not adequately socialized can grow up timid or aggressive towards other dogs or humans.
